Challenge 3 : TEAM #5

So as you guys know for my 3rd Challenge of Cineleisure's Next Online Sensation , we were given an opportunity to raise funds for SPCA ! 

We had fun doing some fast and cashless shopping with our YONO Flashpay Card ! 

Everything was really easy as all we had to do was place the card on the NETS reader and take it off after the amount was deducted . The amount that is left available on the card would also be shown on the reader.

Our team wanted to sell accessories and do nail art to raise funds using products found in Cineleisure.

We wanted to get a fixed price for the nail art but ended up settling for which ever amount the customer wants to donate

Not much shopping pictures because we were spending way to much time running around getting the stuff ~

We got stuff from Femmex , Beadstreet & Becky Berry 

And we paid it all using YONO Flashpay ! 

So off to our location we go , the venue was getting crowded even before we started selling stuff !

Our team , TEAM PAWSOME raised about $80 < .. (According to what we've calculated)

After 6 pm , the time was up and all the scores(money) were tabulated .

Here are the second runner ups , they amounted to $322 ..

Followed by the runner ups whom amounted to $359

WOOOOOOO ~ Congratulations to all the winners . 

They must have worked really hard for the challenge because it was so hard trying to reach near to $100, I wonder how they get to over $300 *gasps*

I bet everyone had fun at the event . Every body must have worked hard because they all look so tired after the challenge was over , like I saw UncleTehPeng walking around with the sign board , HE EVEN WENT TO THE HIGHER LEVELS . Super hard working .

We are so proud to have contributed to the total amount that everybody raised (that's like $1832) 

and we are definitely happy to help SPCA which is our adopted charity for CNOS3 and do some things for a good cause . 

At the end of the event , they announced that we get to keep our YONO  FlashPay Cards with all the money our team has left over inside !

Also ... I would like to thank everyone who took out their time and came down to support my team and I , it was fun while it lasted . Although we didn't win the challenge , there's definitely a sense of satisfaction knowing that we helped to contribute to our adopted charity .

April 3rd ..

Not many of you guys know much about what I've been through . 

April 3rd is kinda a significant day for me . 

I was hospitalised on 2nd of April because I had a drug overdose . 

My life was in a mess at that point of time everything came crashing down on me and I was so lost, 

I didn't know what to do with myself so I decided to do something really selfish , to try and take away my own life . 

I got discharged on the 3rd of April alive, but I was dying inside .. 

I had alot of support from my friends, and I really appreciated it because they made me realise that if I myself gave up on me, nobody's gonna believe in me. 

I had to consult a psychiatrist and I had to get over a lot of pain and emotional baggage. 

I tried to fight my sickness ..

That was 2 years ago .. 

Can you imagine if I didn't pull through , how much of life would I have been missing ? 

I read my mentions and comments everyday and I feel like I contributed to making someone's day . 

How would I be able to do all these if I gave up ? 

And suddenly I'm in Cineleisure's Next Online Sensation , 

something that I thought I would never have the courage to join , and I am given the opportunity to do something for a good cause . 

Our Challenge 3 requires us to try and sell things to raise funds for SPCA, 

TEAM PAWSOME ( Clinton, Jessie & Me ) 

would be selling some of SPCA's products as well stuff we bought in Cineleisure using YONO Flash pay . 

I am so excited to do this challenge because I know that I would be helping animals such as dogs, cats , hamsters and even guinea pigs . 

Awww I miss greygrey so much ..

Challenge 2 : TEAM #3

So the other day I was teamed up with SuanYee and UncleTehPeng for NOMNOM Challenge in the Charlie Brown Cafe !

Each team were allowed 2 tries to get the pancake right and presented in the proper manner ~

Checking if the pancake is gonna be chaoda or not ..

Panicking because the pancake almost chaoda but I cant flip it over

And my pancake was running away from me too ! D:

I guess it's better if I stayed calm during food preparation HAHAHA

My pancakes might have looked better and I would have more confidence in styling the pancakes and overall it would be better ! 

It was a lot of fun making pancakes and it was delicious although it looked quite bad . 

Then I realised that if the pancakes didn't look as appealing as it is delicious , people wouldn't have gotten a good first impression of them, they might not even be tempted to buy those delicious pancakes . ): 

Food presentation and photography are just as important as the food itself . 

As the chef for the team that day , I learnt a few tips from the chef who taught us how to make the pancakes . 

The alignment of the food and the dish is crucial to food presentation , the pancakes were to be placed "shingled" on top of one another inside the more hollow area of the rectangular plate . It made the plate look very full in comparison to having the pancakes stacked on top of one another . 

Also I learnt that we have to have good control in our hands when decorating the plate ! The sauce which was used as both a decoration and topping has to be evenly drizzled . I made a mistake of squeezing too much sauce in front and it made the plate look very messy and unappealing compared to what the professional did and also I should have powdered the cartoon on top of the pancake lightly so that there wouldn't be a cocoa powder spillage all over the pancake . HAHAHAHA

So many spillage over my first pancake ):

A good picture of food especially when it is nicely presented always gets people hungry like how I crave for so much food by just scrolling though Instagram (thanks to my friends.. *cries* ) , that's why it's important to make sure we get the most appetising shot of our delicious pancake . 

Lighting is key .

We didn't need alot of high end equipment to capture the perfect shot of our food , simple lighting can do alot of things like how the pancake glistens under the noon's sun 

We experimented with different angles like this one that captures the food with a bird's eye view with all the props our team has prepared:

 

This is the best shot photo I have chosen , reason is that i find the pancake looking more fluffy with the back light and the cartoon pancake is my centre piece .

And heyyy , we even got a picture with MISSTAMCHIAK ! 

I really enjoyed this challenge , thanks Cathay Lifestyle for giving me this fun learning experience !
